Why does my older personal site look like it was made when the internet just came out?
Answer: 1) I do not intend for it to be a site where I'm selling anything (myself included), and 2) it's built on a free theme and CMS! 😅 "The cobbler's kids have no shoes"…
When you search my full name online there's a lot of data about me on Google. AI tools like Perplexity and ChatGPT can also provide nice summaries. While all of it is true (so far), I want you to have one single source of truth about me and who I am. There's stuff about me in marketing, insurance, nonprofit, politics, soccer, law… and yes, I've been in all those industries somehow, at some point. A lawyer turned marketer? A car insurance agent turned HubSpot specialist? Was I really invited to an NASL team's combine once? Did Óscar Arias (Nobel Peace Prize Winner, 1987) really give an award to a nonprofit I was part of because of a social media campaign I crafted? Was I a professional drummer by age 12? Did I almost run for Congress? Some achievements need a positive walk-through and explanation. Hence, this page.
So here we go…
The beginning
I was born on June 4th, 1994 in Mexico City. Grew up there with a good/fantastic childhood (not a "rags to riches" story — middle class, but never lacking, God was good to us). I moved to Canada with my parents at 12 (by the way, my dad owns this business — his story is more inspiring than mine, and I'm grateful to build on his shoulders. Love you, dad!). Finished elementary school in Brampton, high school in Toronto, and got a business management diploma at Humber College. I loved and still love my parents greatly.
Drums, soccer, and a YouTube channel
Played drums as part of Musician's Choice School of Rock event (learned drums while in Mexico — teachers said I had potential).
Trained for Leones de Lomar FC, a team in Mexico's third professional division (now extinct).
Played for an affiliate academy of Chivas, and nutmegged a dude in a professional stadium that belonged to Oaxtepec FC.
Attended a combine for NASL's Minnesota Stars — didn't make the team, but had a blast traveling with my mom.
Played for the North York Astros' U-20 team.
One of the most important milestones from my teenage years was the YouTube channel Total Skills Videos — at its peak, 6,000+ subscribers and 3 million+ views.
Humber College
Humber was awesome — where I learned a ton and got passionate about business. Participated in the Ontario College's Marketing Competition Quiz Bowl — Humber finished 2nd as a team.
Graduated with Honours, and an assignment there became my first self-published book on Amazon: Simulated Trading: An Average Investor.
As a side note — I was the dude on the TTC bus reading the Financial Post on the way to Humber North Campus.
Mérida years (2015 – 2021)

Marketing career
I joined Céntrico Digital, the first marketing agency I worked for, then it got acquired by UHURU Network. Stepping into the marketing career came with a metric ton of challenges.
It started stressful and very challenging — I was a newbie. But I'm now known by Inbound marketing legends like Marcus Sheridan and George B. Thomas.
I've made unbelievable friends along the way — from Centrico and UHURU to MSE Supplies, Directive Consulting, OneLocal, ConnectCRE — yet, working now for George B. Thomas at Sidekick Strategies continues to simply be life-transforming.
I now have 51 active HubSpot Certifications (likely one of the most ever) and published my first course with HubSpot Academy's team: Proceso de limpieza de datos (Spanish).
